Greensolver appointed by Elicio for wind farm construction

Agreement sees Greensolver manage the construction of a 10MW wind farm in France

Greensolver, the independent technical expert for wind & solar farms, has just been appointed by Belgian renewable energy producer Elicio to manage the construction of a 10MW wind farm based in France.

The French market is amongst the most complex in Europe regarding wind energy: not only in terms of legislation but also regarding the power purchase agreement. However, it has in the meantime great ambitions for 2020 as it looks to reach 19GW of installed wind capacity. Wind farm construction should therefore accelerate in the coming years and is becoming a real challenge.

Following a call for tender phase, Greensolver has been retained by Elicio: mostly thanks to a previous assignment realized but also because of their independency.

“We were very happy with the work achieved by Greensolver in 2015 on a due diligence assignment and decided to entrust their expertise again for the construction of our 12th French wind farm. Partnering with an independent experienced third party ensures us to benefit from an unbiased expertise regarding the construction phase which is, in turn, the most important if you want deadlines and quality of works to be respected.” commented Harald Maselis – Senior Construction Engineer, Elicio.

Located in the Pays de la Loire region, the wind farm will be composed of 5 Senvion MM92 turbines for a cumulated power of 10.25MW. Construction of the wind farm has started in September 2016 and should be fully operational beginning of 2018. Greensolver will act as the construction manager for the whole project, including pre-construction supervision, construction management and taking-over & commissioning.

“Construction of a wind farm is currently becoming a real challenge that requires not only to deal with local authorities and suppliers but also to have the right skills and people to make sure the project is running well – this is what we focus on. Being on the market since 2008 has also allowed us to maintain good relations with the main suppliers and we pride ourselves on having more and more construction projects going on, in France & in Europe.” Adds Guy Auger – Greensolver CEO.

Since 2008 Greensolver has taken part in the construction of 62 wind & solar farms representing 995MW worldwide.
