Greensolver advised BKW on purchase of 49MW of French wind assets.

Greensolver the independent technical expert for wind & solar asset has been selected by Swiss utility BKW to provide a technical due diligence on their recent acquisition of four French assets located across France.

Greensolver advised the Swiss utility on one operating wind farm and three others currently at various stages of development – planned to be operational between 2017 and 2018.

From wind assessment review, site visits, acoustic studies review, contracts relevance and blade inspection, each and every aspect and wind farm performance has been reviewed and analyzed by Greensolver’s team of expert from June to September 2016.

“Apart from performance and conformity, investors and lenders want to know which challenges they will face when investing in a renewable asset. Given the French market complexity at the moment regarding power prices, one of our additional mission was to provide BKW with an expert feedback on each wind farm status and what could be the implication in the very near future on that particular issue.” Comments Carla VICO, Operation Director – Greensolver.

With about 440MW of installed wind capacity BKW is the Swiss leader for wind farm operation and is looking to strengthen its position in France with this deal. This is the second investment of BKW in France.

“Our wind farm portfolio is expanding fast and this deal allows us to have a bigger European coverage. Before investing in a project, we need to have the confidence that the asset will provide the expected return on investment. By partnering with an independent third party like Greensolver, we are provided with that level of certainty and are assured that our requirements will be fully covered.” adds Martina Dabo – Head of Asset Management and Development, BKW.

Greensolver has been delivering more than 7.4GW of Technical Due Diligence assignments all over the world, since 2008.
